That's A Wrap! 2018 in review
How is 2018 over already?!
First, let me say THANK YOU! Thank you for an amazing year of growth, support, community engagement and PLAY! Thank you for choosing KOOP for your children. Thank you for prioritizing play for your child-- it IS important and you're doing the right thing!
Here are the highlights:
We provided over 953 hours of child- directed play with loose parts! Amazing!
We doubled our summer camp offerings-- 8 weeks of summer camp in 2018!
We offered over 20 FREE community pop-up adventure play events
KOOP was able to purchase a trailer to make pop-up events easier and to take our play further in the community
The Play Team has grown by 6 staff members this year and 3 new board members
We received our first couple grants to offer more play
We hosted world renowned speakers and nearly 70 delegates from around the country at our first national gathering for play, the Prioritizing Play Conference alongside Pop- Up Adventure Play
KOOP has made amazing connections to take play to new heights in 2019 both locally and beyond. Watch for details coming soon!
The way we work with children- our playwork philosophy that is core to everything we do- continues to be noticed, sought after and appreciated.
We've built deep, meaningful relationships with families we serve- whether we see you once a year or daily, we value you and are so happy you're on this journey with us.
What's Next?
1. Donate before 12/31 at midnight to our More Play Scholarship Fund. Your tax- deductible donation will provide scholarships for low- income families to get their children to our immersive, child-directed adventure play camp. We want to make our unique KOOP camps more accessible-- help us offer more play!
2. Watch for my next blog in the coming week for the new and exciting things coming to KOOP in 2019--- It's going to be even bigger and more play-full than ever!
